Treaty 2 Territory – Once again, Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve was the host of another Men’s Gathering .

The Ogichidaag traveled to Tootinaowaziibeeng from various Nations including Waywayseecappo, Sandy Bay, Minegoziibe Anishinabe (Pine Creek) and Brandon. There was good representation of many Lakota Nations in the area.

Arthur McKay of Minegoziibe Anishinabe lead the group for the three days from August 26th to 28th, 2022. The group engaged in activities such as picking medicines like sweet grass, mushkeg tea, and wekay.

A lot of sharing took place which contributed to healing. On Saturday evening the men sat together in the Sweat Lodge.

On Sunday, the group finished with two rounds of sharing and prayers were offered to those suffering from illness.  As part of the prayers, numerous hand drum songs were shared by the men as they were sent off in a good way until their next gathering.
