Treaty 2 Territory – Kithithkatchewanang (Dauphin River) may be a bit of a distance off of Highway #6, but that didn’t stop Ice Road Trucker Alex Debogorski from visiting the Nation to help them celebrate their Annual Treaty Days Events. Alex, known by many who watch Ice Road Truckers on the History Channel, spent some time in Dauphin River meeting and greeting fans, taking pictures, and signing autographs.

It’s no secret that Dauphin River has had it’s share of triumphs over the past few years. However, with their strong faith and fellowship, they came together to plan and carry out 4 days of absolute excitement for the Nation.

Chief Lawrence Letander spent a day with AFN Regional Chief Cindy Woodhouse as they sat together with the RCMP to distribute the Treaty payouts.

Throughout the week, various events and activities took place including a Gospel Jam, Canoe/Kayak Races, Various Relays, Airband Contest, Jigging Contest, Day Pin Nak Square Dancing, Moose and Goose Calling, Horseshoes, Silent Auction and more. Daily Breakfasts were hosted, in addition to a BBQ hosted by the Health Centre.

Our Treaty 2 Territory Keepers and Helpers had an incredible time in Dauphin River, and we commend Chief Letander, Council, and the Citizens for hosting such a fun-filled week for Kithithkatchewanang.
