Treaty 2 Territory – On Thursday, July 8, 2021, the FNT2T Women’s Council met online virtually as part of their regularly scheduled gathering to discuss Health and Wellbeing in the nations and moving forward in developing Wellbeing circles in each nation to help local members when needed. Representatives from Lake St. Martin, Pinaymootang, Tootinaowaziibeeng, Keeseekoowenin, Ochichakosipi, Gambler and West Region CFS. Health and Wellbeing Circle Keeper Kim McPherson chaired the meeting and presented on the Health and Wellbeing Circle. Knowledge Keeper Florence Wood of Lake St Martin addressed the council on how important it was for everyone to respect and honor the faith of each member and nation. Other representatives also gave their input on how to develop and have the nation members engage in the Health and Wellbeing law and circles in each nation.
FNT2T Communications Keeper Marlene Davis gave the council an update on the 150th making of the Treaty 2 event which will be held in Ebb and Flow First Nation from August 16-21,2021, at Eagle Island. The next women’s council meeting is scheduled for Jul 14, 2021, to be held virtually.
