Youth Council moves forward with Inherent Right to Govern

Treaty 2 Territory – August 4, 2020, The First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory Youth Council met at the Government Building for discussions on moving forward in Governance. Treaty 2 Territory – August 4, 2020, The First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory Youth Council met at the Government Building for discussions on moving forward in Governance. Members of the Youth Council had representatives from the 4 directions of the Territory. Councillor Bradley Burns of Keeseekoowenin conducted the opening prayer followed by the opening by Chairperson Tyrone Desjarlais of Ebb and Flow First Nation. The day began with opening statements from the Youth Council and FNT2T Government staff. The First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory Government staff presented their reports to the council. Regional Offices reports were conducted by Special Projects Keepers Lana Racette and Marlene Davis.

The Youth Council is pleased to be moving forward with FNT2T Sports Associations and Anishinaabemowin. The 2021 Summer Games discussions will continue for the Youth Council. Plans and preparations have now started for the youth the FNT2T 2021 Summer Games. Miigwech to all the members of the Youth Council and FNT2T staff for attending today’s meeting.
