Treaty 2 Territory – On July 21st and 22nd, 2020, Local Nation O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi utilized Treaty 2 Government Building for Emergency Planning.  The Local Nation is taking a proactive approach to prepare for, intervene in, and/or control an expected second wave of COVID-19.  This proactive approach by the Local Nation is a grass roots response to the inadequate reactive approach in providing funding and as needed health measures from the federal government.

Top of the agenda on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2020, was the 12 new COVID-19 cases announced by Manitoba that brought the total to 41 active cases, up 272.73% from 11 active cases five days earlier, on Friday July 17, 2020.

With Government Funding expected to be inadequate for the second wave of COVID-19, the Local Nation is planning for the worst, and praying for the best for all their members.  Along with prayer, leadership is taking the proactive approach and doing everything they can with the resources they have, and the capacity of the Local Nation.
